Video: Loved Unending (Stargate, Sam/Jack)
Song: Clubbed to Death
Artist: Rob Dougan
Summary:
Sam, during Unending, thinks about Jack while struggling to continue working on a way to get out of the time dilation field.
Abstract:
Sam has given up trying to find a way out of the time dilation field, resolving that even if she'd found a way, after so many years Jack would have certainly moved on with his life. Then she talks to Daniel and he is surprised and disappointed when she tells him she's given up. When Landry is dying and he tells her that none of this is her fault and to not give up she promises she won't. She stays with Landry until he dies and when she leaves, she finds ever stalwart and faithful Teal'c standing outside the door, ready to help her. Her determination is renewed and her memories of how she and Jack never gave up on each other helps her to work on getting back home to him.

I watched the streamed version, so Ican only say it's blurry at best. Anyway, on to the vid. I like this one much better than the one you posted earlier this day. Which is kind of funny because I love all your vids. This one is just... I don't know, special?
And I LOVE! the song you used. What's it called? Cause I, like, need it!
I'm happy to have you here, you know that?

The song is "Clubbed to Death" by Rob Dougan. I'll send a link to you.

I just dug out a video I started about a year ago that I want to have an intro graphic for but I don't have that ability. The song is 19-2000 by Gorillaz and the video is strictly about Window of Opportunity.
I was thinking of having an opening graphic with Jack, Daniel, Sam and Teal'c like is on the Demon Days album cover. I know it's not the same album as the song, but I like the cover.
If you don't know the group, here's a link to what I'm talking about.

So I was considering doing a 2x2 "Brady Bunch" thing instead but I really prefer the static graphic idea and you are in guilt-mode right now ;)

I see what I can do, but it might take some time. But you want photos, right? Cause I really can't draw cartoonish Jack or T... or Sam or Daniel for that matter.

I have to nag you to tell me more about the "special." I can't stop wondering what it is. It really helps me to do better videos if I know what's working and what's not.
And, last thing, I promise. You are positively the sweetest. I can't figure out why my being here makes you happy but my heart is fluttering just reading that. *hugs you*

First, you used a great introduction. I know that the scenes were already cut in a sweet way, but you placed so fitting right to the first few measures, just lovely.
Then you told a story. Most people just put nice scenes to nice music, but you actually tell a story in this video, that also makes it special.
The piano part is totally different than the one before and the one after, which is great because you go with the music. I'm not a fan of too crazy blendings and ways to move into the next scene, so the first bits of the pasrt after the piano aren't really my favorites, but you then move to Jack scenes, and that's cool!
And at the end you have those cool little bits and pieces which follow exactly the heartbeat of the music. That is really lovely.
That's why it is special to me. Most importantly because you tell a story which follows the music, but all those little pieces together make an even cooler and... more special vid. AND, you almost always use sooo good music, I could cry!
Hope you can understand my thoughts a bit, now that I read them, I don't understand them myself :D
*hugs you back* Why it makes me happy having you around? That's easy to answer: I admire your work, but also the love you put in them.
You are a funny fellow to have as a friend, and you are a good person.

My biggest struggle with videos still is with transitions and effects. I don't want to overuse them but sometimes it's necessary. And the overlays was a little thing I've been wanting to try for a while so I did it here. I was hoping it would help the viewer remember this was Sam remembering. So I kept the interjections real short. Except for the Hundred Days one, that one I kept long because I *hate* that scene at the end, it kills me, and blending it with Sam talking to Janet was my way of showing how embarrassed Sam must have felt seeing Jack like that after talking to Janet like that. grrrrrrrr!
I'm trying to work up the nerve to start using "non" shippy clips of Sam and Jack, like clips of one from a scene where the other isn't even in it. That's really getting out of my little box, so I'll be struggling with that for a while.
Thank you so much. This is all good for me to know. Even the stuff you don't like. Which, btw, is what I'm not fond of in this video either. I'll probably give it a redo some day.
