Uh, Colonel?

One of the things that's kept me massively busy this year is overhauling all of my older, letterboxed videos, removing the letterboxing. I've finally finished and have updated all of the posts here.

Please note, these are not HD! Mostly I just cropped and resized the letterbox video. I could not go back to my WMM projects to generate higher quality for this because I don't have the letterboxed source any more. So the quality of the widescreen versions will be only as good as the video I have.

On some of them I swapped in a new credit pic in place of the long, boring, scrolling credits I used to do. I also added my logo.

I figured out how to embed streaming so now every video post has streaming available. I also discovered that several of the download links were dead. For some reason MediaFire deleted some of my files. Hmph! Those are all fixed now.

Hey there friends! Long time no hear.

Well, in the past six months I was traveling for about half the time. Fun stuff only, no work. Pshaw! Work is soooo over!  And after we got home from each of the (two) trips, we sort of just vegetated for the next week or so. It's kind of weird cuz it takes us only a few days to get used to living in a 40 ft by 8 ft space but it takes weeks to get back into "home" mode.

My most important task that I'm working on right now is to get my videos uploaded to my YouTube account. Those of you who have known me for a while are rereading that I'm sure. Yes, it's true.  I'm giving that lousy, rotten, no good site another chance. They seem to have gotten over their paranoia and are, at least so far, letting me keep my videos up as long as I enter a dispute on the ones that get flagged, which has been most of them.  Even with the dispute though, they usually still end up being blocked in Germany. I'm sorry to all my friends in Germany. That's totally unfair.

The reason why I'm focusing on getting them on YouTube though is really driven by a problem that I'm having with DivShare. After YouTube started threatening me with DMCA violations way back when, I found DivShare and put up lo-res versions of each video there, which I then used for streaming here on LiveJournal. But for some reason that isn't working anymore.  I think it might be because DivShare is now part of or maybe acquired by Kadoo. And whatever Kadoo is doing ain't workin'.  I'm not the only one with the problem so maybe they'll work it out eventually. Until then though I'm working my way backwards through my video posts and putting them onto YouTube and updating the streaming links.

And back in real life...

Now that spring is here it means we have to get out and fix the yard.  Last year we had all the fill brought in and grass planted. Well, a lot of it just plain did not take. All around the house we have mostly dead grass. And out in the front we had to dethatch cuz it was really nasty. I think that battle with the clover is most of the gunk. After the dethatching we had to put down new seed.  So now I'm completely sore all over but mostly my knees are killing me from constant working of the lawn tractor pedals.  It really all boils down to one simple thing: Completely. Out of. Shape!

One last thing...

I went to the dentist yesterday. I hate dentists because I've always been horrible about caring for my teeth and now I'm suffering the consequences of that.  Anyway, all the dentists ever do is make my mouth hurt more. Until yesterday. Since we moved out here to the middle of nowhere we called around and found a local dentist rather than travel 75 miles to our previous one. Well, I've been having severe sensitivity for about 25 years in one tooth and not one single dentist over all these years was able to fix it. Until this one. He drilled out the filling and found decay and kept drilling to get it all out. It left me with about 20% of a tooth. So he packed in a medicated temporary filling and wants me back in two weeks to get a cap put on but only if there isn't anymore pain. I was to call his office this morning to let him know. Guess what? There's no more pain!   It's the weirdest feeling right now when I drink or eat something cold cuz I'm all set for the sharp ZING to shoot from my tooth up into my head but it doesn't happen. I LOVE THIS GUY!

Remember that Kawoosh Foreign Language Challenge a few weeks ago?  Well, I got first place!!!  SqueeeeEEEEE! *faints*  Thank you everyone who voted, even if you didn't vote for me! 

As for the other stuff, I'm still up to my ears in Real Life.  I hope to get freed up next week.  My daughter was in town last weekend and I had to spend every second possible with her.  She went back home and I miss her already. *wipes tear*

I changed my page theme.  I like it better than before.  It's simple, easier to read.  Do you think so? Or is it miserably boring?

Well I'm being a gabby one this week.  I've been commenting like crazy on my friends' pages.  I'm posting here again.  Yay!  I'm also posting over at my Yahoo 360, so if you get a chance or have an interest, jump over there, the link is here on the page in the links section.

I'm learning more about organizing things here and on my blog.  I finally learned what tags are.  Don't laugh!  I think I'll also use my LJ for comments on my videos.  So I'll be spamming my page soon with a post for each one that'll link to the video page on Tripod which will have a link back to the LJ post for any comments.  I love comments.  Comments make me want to keep making videos.

I won't be making videos for at least month though.  I have two huge projects at work and I'm on full overtime.  But I'll be destressing by posting here or on my Yahoo blog.

Oh!  I figured out the music I need right now.  Big band, swing, jazz from the 40's and 50's.
